Nov 08, 2011·I dealt with cloth diapers and I dont think I like either. I just rather fold them myself as it is easier to wash them. at least for me. its hard to wash between layers in prefold and inserts seem pointless because you have to wash the whole thing anyway.

I currently use DiaperRite birdseye flats & large Indian cotton prefolds, and Econobum prefolds. Now that Jr. is 20 months, the large prefolds have the better absorbency and size for naps, but the Econobums worked so well from 6-18 months for his size, until the rise got a little small for him.

Prefold cons: need to learn to fold them (there are youtube videos that are great tutorials), if you trifold them the poop will likely get on the cover so you will need lots of covers if you trifold with a younger baby, some say take longer to dry than the inserts on a pocket diaper (if you use a hemp insert though, may not be the case), I would say they stain easily but I don't care about ...
